Expressing ~ Riding Our Inner River Flow Immersion

I am writing to you from Argentina. Outside my window the Paraná River flows unimpeded carrying many memories, stories and wisdom from lands and times far away.
This magnificent river expresses herself in ways of strong currents, whirlpools and waves responding to the water levels during the different seasons.
She comes all the way from Brazil and her waters are a crimson/brownish color filled with clay from the lands she meets when traversing the jungle.
Her flow teaches me change is a constant. She follows her path openly meeting all the richness and seeming obstacles it presents. She adapts and shape-shifts effortlessly. She does not have a preference and responds in a myriad of ways expressing endless shades of beauty, bringing joy to the eyes of the beholder, offering life to many species.
Her expressing shifts constantly…..never repeating itself yet not striving to change! Her openness to meet ALL with flow is an inspiration!
I cannot help but remember the words of Emilie Conrad, founder of Continuum, calling us “uninformed bipeds forgetting our oceanic heritage.”
Modern life, modern busyness, modern efforts to make our lives faster and more productive encourage linear and efficient ways of expressing.
Fantastic!!!!!….And…..that is exactly how variability and innovation in our expressing becomes limited!
Our fast pacing precludes us from the range and richness of the rhythmicity we find in Nature.
Continuum offers us ways to re-member and re-connect with the multi-dimensional arrays of expressing ourselves in resonance with our oceanic ancestry.
In Continuum we slow down.
In Continuum we honor, attend and tend to our breath.
In Continuum we make our breath audible with simple sounds to allow our attention to follow its trajectory with ease.
In Continuum we offer touch while sounding to augment the impact of the sounds in our bodies, allowing our tissues to soften and reorganize.
In Continuum we pause, we stop, we listen with open attention…no bias…no preconceived ideas of when, what, and how to move.
In Continuum we become curious. We become open. We become vulnerable. We allow ourselves to follow the internal choreography of pulses, spirals, ripples…..we follow the whispers of our inner sea and respond to the call of the coral reef.
We discover movement!!!!
We discover joy and pleasure as we move!
We remember movement is what we are
and not what we do!
We express fully at every level!!!
I invite you to join me and a group of committed and experienced practitioners during the month of June to re-member the many ways expressing can take when not limited by our human shape.
Warmly,
Marcella
