Embracing the Paradox
In this workshop we will explore the dynamics at the core of polarities through movement, embodiment, relational play, shared experiences and deep states of awareness. Polarities in this context are seen has evolving principles rather than fixed concepts. At the core of polarities lies experience. We expérience polarities like we experience two opposite perspectives such as our inner reality (or sense of self) and an outer reality (our perception of the outside world), or being a single body versus being a collective body, or having a biological male body versus a female body…
In this context, polarities are the result of a totality divided in two parts that are not equal but complementary. They have to oppose in order to create dynamic movements that will evolve the two principles towards potency, complexity and creativity. At this moment, our current world and culture are stuck into polarisation, meaning the two opposite forces are losing their relationship. Nothing can move forward until we find this relationship within our own consciousness. And for a human being it implies to go through an embodied experience of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers that make us Humans. Somatic movement practices such as Continuum, embodied anatomy, embryology and others are great portals for an experiential understanding of polarities.
Our invitation is to reflect on our own experiences of polarity, then to create frameworks based on safety and trust to allow the exploration of the perspectives that we perceive as polarities within ourselves. The study of polarity is a perceptual shift in consciousness and can only happen when our nervous system feels safe, to avoid defensive and reactive patterns. It is about expanding our sense of self and the reality around us to tap into the awareness of our own totality.
